So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.                   1 Corinthians 10:31

Hey there everyone!

My name is Kim, and I love to craft, cook, and bake. I originally started this blog to share recipes with friends. It’s been on hiatus for a few years as I worked through some health issues, but recently I began doing paper crafting again after a long break. I’d like to share some of my creations here – it gives me such pleasure to make a special card for someone in my life. I’ll also continue to share recipes

My faith in God is the foundation of my life. Through the sacrifice of his Son I have been given the gift of mercy and grace.  I give Him all the glory for the gifts he has given me.

I decided to call this blog Chirp Like a Cricket because I have an old Roget’s Thesaurus (published in 1984) and under the listing for cheerfulness (verbs) it says “chirp like a cricket”. That makes me smile. I live in a cozy house in the Midwest with my wonderful husband, Jim, and a border collie named Sam.

I hope you’ll enjoy the crafts, recipes and other fun things that I want to share with all of you.

  1. Loved your blurb about dogs today. With everything going on I have found such immense comfort in having Twiggy. She makes me smile everyday and helps me forget about everything else. Oh, and I’m going to make those caramel cracker bars soon too. Here’s to cooking and feeding one’s soul. Luv ya!

    • Oh Kimmy, so true. Isn’t it amazing how much love they give us? Had a great time at Nye’s – can’t wait to see you and Twigs. So glad you’re going to make the bars, so they are kind of addictive.
