There will be a shelter to give shade from the heat by day, and refuge and protection from the storm and the rain. Isaiah 4:6
And on this stormy night my good friend is coming over soon to be creative with me. She wants to make a Father’s Day card for her dad! My dad passed away many years ago and I will always miss him. Thinking of him makes me smile – he was a bear of a man, so I post this card in his honor.
I used the darling Happy Camper set from Paper Smooches for the bear and the sentiment and their Autumn Groves set for the birch tree and leaves. The heart came from their Hello Sampler set. I made a paper frame (one of my favorite things to do). When I get a camera I’ll post a tutorial on how to do it – it’s essentially just one piece of paper cut, folded and scored to form four squared edges. Takes about 5 minutes to make.
I die cut an overlay for the frame using MFT Wonky stitched square.
Colored with Copics and did the background with a cloud stencil I have had since about 1995 and distress inks for the sky and grass. I popped the bear up and added some Glossy Accents to his nose.
This is lightweight enough to attach to a card or you can make an easel for it and just use it as a decoration.
I had so much fun making this – the bear is so cute.
Thanks for stopping by!
